Welcome to the breathtaking Valley of Flowers National Park, where nature paints landscapes more vibrant than imagination.
Located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, this Himalayan paradise sits at an altitude of 11,811 feet. The scenery feels almost unreal — like a dream you never want to wake up from.
Home to more than 600 species of rare Himalayan flowers, endangered wildlife, and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is rightly known as India’s Most Beautiful Monsoon Trek.
At Secure Travels, we don’t just take you to the Valley of Flowers — we guide you through its legends, colors, history, and spiritual charm.
Let’s explore what makes this trek unforgettable.

Because that’s exactly what it is — a valley that bursts into life every monsoon with a magical bloom.
Locally known as Phoolon Ki Ghati, the valley is surrounded by misty peaks and covered in a vibrant carpet of wildflowers. It’s a paradise for photographers, botanists, and nature lovers.
Some rare and fascinating flowers you may spot:
Brahma Kamal – Sacred and elusive, blooms at night
Blue Poppy – Bright blue and incredibly eye-catching
Cobra Lily – Shaped like a cobra ready to strike
Bistorta Affinis – Pink flower spikes visible from afar
Himalayan Edelweiss – Rare and found above 12,000 ft
Saxifraga Brunonis – Delicate blooms growing through rocks
Every flower here carries a story rooted in myth, history, and Himalayan ecology.
Your journey also includes a visit to Hemkund Sahib, the world’s highest Gurudwara at 15,200 ft. It is believed that Guru Gobind Singh meditated here in a previous life. The serenity and silence of this sacred place leave a lasting impact.
Nearby is Lokpal Laxman Temple, located beside the pristine Hemkund Lake. According to legend, Lord Laxman meditated here after the battle of Lanka. The peaceful atmosphere is deeply spiritual and calming.
Long before modern travel, the valley was mentioned in mythology as a land of fairies and divine beings.
In 1931, British mountaineer Frank S. Smythe and his team discovered it while returning from an expedition to Mt. Kamet. Mesmerized by its beauty, they named it the “Valley of Flowers.” Since then, explorers, researchers, and trekkers have visited, each discovering their own connection with this magical place.
The trek begins from Govindghat, but first you must reach Rishikesh.
Nearest airport: Jolly Grant Airport (about 20 km from Rishikesh)
Nearest major railway station: Haridwar Junction (25 km from Rishikesh)
Rishikesh is well connected by road to major North Indian cities.

Unlike most Himalayan treks, the best time to visit the Valley of Flowers is during the monsoon season.
